KAYAK

HIKE or take transport if available 4km to Snake Cape at the South tip of the island. From the resort it will take around 50 minutes to walk or 10 minutes by tuk-tuk plus 10 minutes walk at the end. You will pass several landmarks such as oil storage tanks and the municipal incinerator before ending up at an old quarry. Walk from there.

THE CHALLENGE.

Your group has to make a journey by kayak across the channel to Bat Island. You have to get across and back, but you must keep together. Think about how to organise people into kayaks to do this. Your points score will depend on group cohesion as well as distance covered with significant penalties for separation of the two kayaks. This activity is not equal for all participants so there should be plenty of encouragement and little or no criticism.
